The Blox ("we", "us") operates a residential and short-stay property in Meru, Kenya, managed by Buni Blox Africa. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from residents, short-stay guests, and website visitors, how we use it, and the choices you have. We comply with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
Information we collect
- Booking information. Name, contact details, ID number, dates of stay, number of guests, and payment confirmation references.
- Tenancy records. Lease agreements, next-of-kin contacts, vehicle registration for parking access, and emergency contacts.
- Payments. M-Pesa transaction codes, bank reference numbers, and invoice history. We do not store full card or banking credentials.
- Site access. CCTV footage of common areas and gate entry logs, retained for 30 days for security purposes.
- Website usage. Anonymised analytics about pages viewed and devices used.
How we use information
- To process bookings, leases, and rent or stay payments.
- To provide on-site management, maintenance, and security services.
- To send service-related communications via WhatsApp, SMS, or email.
- To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations in Kenya.
Sharing
We share information only with our property management staff, our payments processor (Safaricom for M-Pesa), and, where required, with law enforcement or regulators. We do not sell personal information.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing hello@theblox.co.ke. We respond within 7 working days.
